Mayor of Van removed from Office
Police raided the municipal building of Van on Saturday at around 4:00 AM, detaining many people, including journalists. Then, Abdullah Zeydan, Co-mayor of Van, was removed from office and replaced with a state-appointed trustee.

Van- A civilian vigil started in front of the building of the Van Metropolitan Municipality when Abdullah Zeydan was sentenced to three years and nine months in prison. Police raided the municipal building of Van on Saturday at around 4:00 AM, on the 5th day of the vigil, detaining many journalists, including NuJINHA reporter Medine Mamedoğlu, Jinnews reporter Rabia Önver, Mesopotamia Agency (MA) reporters Bilal Babat and Mehmet Güleş and journalist Behçet Bayhan.
Police forcibly opened the door of the municipality, used tear gas and detained many people, including Amed Metropolitan Municipality Co-mayor Doğan Hatun. Doğan Hatun was later released.
Abdullah Zeydan removed from office
After the raid, the Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs issued a statement, announcing that Abdullah Zeydan, Co-mayor of Van, has been removed from office and appointed Governor Ozan Balcı as a trustee to the municipality.
