Madleen activist Rima Hassan: This silence is a serious political fault
“This silence is a serious political fault,” EU Parliament member Rima Hassan said in a speech at EU Parliament after her expulsion from Israel, criticizing the silence of the European Parliament.

News Center- EU Parliament member Rima Hassan, one of the 12 activists aboard the Gaza Freedom Flotilla’s Madleen boat four activists aboard the Madleen boat, made a speech at the EU Parliament after her expulsion from Israel, criticizing the silence of the European.
“As long as this parliament is silent, Europe will no longer be a voice for human rights but the echo of its own complicity and political cowardice,” she said, stressing that she was kidnapped at international sea by the Israeli army on June 8 while she was on board a humanitarian ship on the way to Gaza.
“There were 12 of us on board the ship, including 10 European citizens, all have been kidnapped, deported by Israel and illegally detained for several days in a deafening silence of this parliament, no condemnation, no call for unconditional release. I was handcuffed, searched naked. I was put in solitary confinement for having writing free Palestine in my cell. I want to recall beyond our political divides that the action of Flotilla is perfectly legal. It was supported by 10 UN Special Rapporteurs, millions of European citizens, hundreds of parliamentarians and NGOs internationally. Not only Gaza has the right to receive humanitarian aid but states and politicians have the moral and legal duty to stop the famine and genocide that is raging there. This silence prevails and is a serious political fault. It fuels Israel’s impunity and compromises, the credibility of this institution.
