News Center- JÎN Women Association and Newroz Cultural and Social Association held a commemoration in Beirut and condemned the massacres that took place in Paris on January 9, 2013 and on December 23, 2022.

On January 9, 2013, Kurdish politicians Sakine Cansız, Fidan Doğan and Leyla Şaylemez were murdered in Paris. On December 23, 2022, a gun attack was carried out against the Ahmet Kaya Kurdish Cultural Center in Paris. The Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK) Executive Council Member Emine Kara (Nom de guerre: Evîn Goyi), Kurdish singer Mîr Perwer (Mehmet Şirin Aydın) and Abdurrahman Kızıl lost their lives in the massacre.

The commemoration was held at the headquarters of the Newroz Cultural and Social Association in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. Kurdish people living in Lebanon attended the commemoration and a press statement was issued.

The statement said, “The perpetrators of the first and second Paris massacres are the same. The Turkish state is responsible for the attacks. We call on the French government to take all legal measures to reveal those who committed these crimes, to bring the perpetrators to account and protect Kurdish politicians and centers from Turkish attacks. We call on all democratic and women's organizations that believe in justice and freedom to stand by the Kurdish cause and the cause of the women’s freedom movement. We will follow in the footsteps of Sakine Cansız and her comrades to the end.”
