ISIS member arrested for trying to sell Yazidi girl online
The Governorship of Ankara has announced the arrest of ISIS member Sabbah Ali Oruç, who abducted a Yazidi girl and tried to sell her on the dark web.
Ankara- The Governorship of Ankara has released a statement regarding the Yazidi girl, who was abducted and tried to be sold on the dark web by ISIS member Sabbah Ali Oruç.
The governorship has announced the arrest of Sabbah Ali Oruç and that the child was put under the protection of the state.
“As result of an investigation launched by our Provincial Police Department upon information shared on social media platforms, Iraqi citizen S. O. was arrested and the Yazidi child named A. S. O. was put under the protection of the state,” the statement said.
What had happened?
In 2017, a Yazidi girl was forcibly taken from Shingal by ISIS member Sabbah Ali Oruç. The ISIS member tried to sell the Yazidi girl on the dark web. According to Artı Gerçek, police raided the house of the ISIS member in February 2021. Yesterday, Artı Gerçek reported that the Turkish Ministry of Family and Social Policies handed over the Yazidi girl to the family of the ISIS member to stay with them for a weekend.
On October 26, the first hearing of the trial against the ISIS member was held by the Ankara 15th High Criminal Court. The ISIS member stands trial on charges of “human trafficking”.
