Emine Şenyaşar’s sit-in protest for justice enters its 164th day
Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar have held a sit-in protest in front of the Urfa Courthouse demanding justice for 164 days.
Riha- The sit-in protest for justice staged by Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were killed in the attack carried out by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız in the Suruç district of Urfa province, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar, who survived the attack, has continued on its 164th day.
The family held pictures of Hacı Esvet Şenyaşar, Celal Şenyaşar and Adil Şenyaşar and a placard reading, “A mother has held a sit-in protest in front of the Şanlıurfa Courthouse demanding justice for 164 days. Her husband and two sons were killed at the hospital on June 16, 2018. No lawsuit has been opened because a member of parliament was involved in the massacre. We demand justice for everyone.”
The family also posted a tweet today. “Police station imposed a fine for hanging a banner reading, ‘We demand justice’ in front of the courthouse. Why don’t you arrest those who attacked our workplace and killed our family members? A state is strong as long as it is fair,” the family wrote in the tweet.
