Emine Şenyaşar’s protest enters its 60th day
Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar have held a protest demanding justice for their killed relatives for two months.
Riha- Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were killed by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP Urfa MP Ibrahim Halil Yıldız in Suruç district of Urfa province just before the general elections held in Turkey on June 24, 2018, has held a sit-in protest since March 9 with her son Ferit Şenyaşar at home, instead of in front of Urfa Courthouse due to full lockdown imposed across Turkey.
The Şenyaşar family posted a tweet today and said, “A father went to a hospital to see his children. The father was killed along with his children after being lynched. Three years have passed but no investigation has been opened into the incident. This is incredible but true. Article 2 (Turkish Constitution):The Republic of Turkey is governed by Rule of Law.”
