News Center_ Based on reports published by student media in Iran, Najmeh Amini, a 23-year-old accounting student, has been sentenced to 12 years, 6 months, and 1 day in prison.

Iranian authorities have brought multiple charges against student Najmeh Amini, including “carrying out operational work against national security.”The verdict was issued in recent days by the First Branch of the Revolutionary Court in Mashhad and communicated to her.

Najmeh Amini was arrested on January 31 last year during inspection operations in the Ferdowsi Market area of Mahhad, after being subjected to violence and beatings by security forces. She was then transferred to Vakilabad Prison. She spent about three months in solitary confinement in the security wing of the prison and is currently being held in a wing known as “Aramesh.”

According to published reports, Najmeh Amini has been denied the right to a lawyer of her choice and the right to a fair trial since her arrest. She has also faced charges of "Moharebeh" (waging war against God), "collaboration with Israel," "insulting the Supreme Leader," and "clashing with a member of the authorities." Reports indicate that she was subjected to pressure during the investigation period aimed at extracting forced confessions.

Another case has also been opened against this student on charges of "blasphemy against the Prophet" before the Sixth Branch of the Criminal Court in Khorasan Razavi, with a trial session scheduled for the last days of September.
