Canan Kaftancıoğlu's party membership revoked
The membership of Canan Kaftancıoğlu in the Republican People’s Party (CHP) has been revoked.
News Center- The membership of Canan Kaftancıoğlu in the Republican People’s Party (CHP) has been revoked by an appeal court after being banned from politics.
Canan Kaftancıoğlu, the head of the Republican People's Party's (CHP) in Istanbul, was sentenced to four years and 11 months and 20 days in prison last month. On May 31, she was sent to the Silivri Prison and then released from the prison on June 1. But due to her conviction, she has been banned from politics.
Speaking about the political ban imposed on Canan Kaftancıoğlu, CHP chairperson Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu said, “We don’t recognize the political ban. We do not listen to the court. Canan Kaftancıoğlu is our head of the Istanbul organization.”
