“Attacking women and civilians is a moral failure and violates basic human values.”
Condemnations rise over severe violations in Aleppo's Kurdish neighborhoods, with escalating violence against civilians and women, leading to killings and forced displacements amid dire humanitarian conditions.

Deir ez-Zor – Women from Deir ez-Zor province in northeastern Syria condemned the violations that took place in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods, considering what is happening to be “brutal practices amounting to grave crimes, represented by the capture, mistreatment, and killing of female fighters.”
“Forces that target women automatically lose their legitimacy.”
Farah al-Ali believes that these acts were not even committed during the most brutal periods of repression under the previous regime, and that killing women after their capture “cannot be considered a victory or a military achievement, but rather evidence of moral defeat and a complete lack of values, especially since some of them faced their fate while bearing arms in defense of themselves and their areas.”
She pointed out that the parties that committed these violations “are linked to the Turkish state and are trying to present themselves as forces or formations representing the Syrian army,” stressing that they “do not represent the people of Deir ez-Zor or the Syrian youth generation, and do not enjoy any support of the people. Any force that practices violence against prisoners and targets women automatically loses its legitimacy.”
She emphasized that using the name of Islam to justify these crimes is a direct insult to it. "Treating prisoners in this way is unacceptable under any circumstances or pretext; it poses a real danger to the entire Syrian society."
She concluded by saying that the people of Deir ez-Zor province categorically reject these practices and stand united with the victims.
"A violation of the population's right to life and security"
Nadia Al-Mudhi condemned the repeated attacks targeting populated areas, considering the ongoing bombing, killing, and forced displacement of civilians, especially in the bitter cold, a violation of the population's right to life and security.
She emphasized that civilians are innocent victims of the conflict, and that the targeted families live in their homes, have not attacked anyone, and are only seeking security and stability in their areas, with no desire for violence or confrontation.
She added that the continued attacks are killing innocent people, especially children, and forcibly displacing families from their homes, questioning the justification for targeting civilians. "A person living peacefully in their home cannot become a target. Targeting residential areas is a clear violation of all humanitarian laws and norms."
The residents of Deir ez-Zor province, as has become clear, stand united in their rejection of these violations. "What affects civilians affects everyone; the pain is shared, and the suffering is common. Therefore, we must show greater solidarity with the resistance in Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh."
Nadia al-Mudahhi demanded that those responsible for killing and displacing innocent civilians be held accountable and that impunity not be tolerated. She expressed her hope that security and stability would prevail in Syria and that the attacks, which bring nothing but more pain and human losses, would cease.
