News Center- As the conflict between Israel and Iran has entered its seventh day, the Iranian regime has started a wave of arrests in the country on charges of “spying for Israel” and “disturbing public opinion”.
Since the start of the conflict, at least 150 people, including activists, university professors, social media users and laborers, have been arrested in Iran on charges of “spying for Israel” and “disturbing public opinion”, according to a report released by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights on Wednesday.
“These arrests have taken place as part of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s retaliatory and suppressive policies and have been carried out without adherence to basic human rights standards,” the organization said. “These arrests have taken place without any fair legal proceedings. Many detainees have been subjected to pressure during interrogations and forced into confessions.”
Since June 13, 2025, at least 28 people have been arrested in Tehran and accused of spying for Israel, according to the report.
On Tuesday, at least 18 girls under the age of 18 were arrested by the Iranian security forces in Mahabad over their posts on social media platforms about the Israel-Iran conflict, the organization reported, stating that the girls were temporarily released on bail after several hours of interrogation.
