Afghan women read poems against Taliban morality laws

Afghan women and women all around the world have published videos of themselves on social media platforms, reading poems or singing songs to protest the Taliban’s new morality laws.

Kabul- Afghan women keep protesting the Taliban’s new morality laws which include a ban on women’s voices in public.

Thousands of Afghan women have published videos of themselves on social media platforms, reading poems and singing songs to protest the laws banning their voice under the hashtag “#AWomansVoiceIsNotAwrat”.

Roqia Sadeghi, journalist and women’s rights activist in Afghanistan, Yalda Ahmed, a women's rights activist in Afghanistan, Mina Askar, a children’s rights activist, have published videos of themselves, reading poems of Meena Keshwar Kamal, the founder of the Revolutionary Association of the Women of Afghanistan (RAWA).
