2 women to be deported from Turkey for protesting violence against women

Two foreign women, who has been held at the Selimpaşa Deportation Center since they were detained on November 25 while protesting violence against women in Istanbul, will be deported from Turkey.

News Center- Two foreign women, one from Azerbaijan and other from Italy, have been held at the Selimpaşa Deportation Center since they were detained on November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, while protesting violence against women in Istanbul.

The two women will be reportedly deported from Turkey and they have been banned from entering Turkey. According to the received reports, the Italian woman came to Turkey by getting a tourist visa while the Azerbaijani woman came to Turkey by getting a residence permit. Their lawyers have reportedly objected to the decision.
