17th day of Emine Şenyaşar’s justice vigil under police blockage

Emine Şenyaşar has staged her “Justice Vigil” for 17 days.
News Center- Today, Emine Şenyaşar and Ferit Şenyaşar continue to stage their “Justice Vigil” demanding justice for their killed relatives under police blockade. When Emine Şenyaşar and Ferit Şenyaşar resisted, the police tried to prevent them from holding the vigil and seized placards and blockaded the area.
Emine Şenyaşar has staged a sit-in protest in front of Urfa Courthouse for 17 days to demand justice. Emine Şenyaşar wrote, “We were subjected to the massacre on July 14, 2020, at the State Hospital. We demand justice because no lawsuit has been opened against the perpetrators,” on the placards.
Today, police asked them to end their protest and prevented journalists to take photographs. But Emine and Ferit Şenyaşar continued to stage their protest. Then, police officers seized the placards. “We are here for 17 days. We have done whatever you have told us until now. We began staging our protest inside the courthouse building but you didn’t allow us. We will never leave here even if you kill us,” said Ferit when police tried to prevent them.
What had happened?
On June 14, 2018, the relatives and bodyguards of AKP MP Ibrahim Halil Yıldız killed Emine Şenyaşar’s husband Hacı Esvet Şenyaşar her sons Adil and Celal Şenyaşar and wounded Fadıl, Ferit, and Mehmet from the same family in the Suruç district of Urfa province during the campaign for the General Election held on 24 June 2018 in Turkey. Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar have staged a sit-in protest known as “Justice Vigil” for 17 days demanding a lawsuit to be opened.
