    The people came together for Cejna Pîrşayar (English: The festival of Pir Shalyar, a Zoroastrian priest) which is welcomed in winter with celebrations in Rojhilat Kurdistan, particularly in Hawraman.

  • Syriac people try to protect their historical buildings destroyed by ISIS 

    Til Nesrî village is a Syriac village having many historical buildings, including Maryam El Azra church. Before the attacks of ISIS on the village, more than 1.500 Syriac people lived in the village and the people of the village represented their village in national competitions in many sports branches such as cycling, swimming, and long jump. The village was known as the capital of the Syriac people but now several families live in the village and their historical buildings are almost in ruins. Despite everything, the Syriac people try to protect their history.
