HDP MP Nuran İmir has summited a parliamentary question, asking the situation of jailed Tenzile Acar, who has suffered from health problems. Nuran İmir has stated that Tenzile Acar should be immediately released.

News Center- Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Şırnak MP Nuran İmir has summited a parliamentary question about Tenzile Acar, who has suffered from health problems in prison, with the demand to receive an answer from the Minister of Justice, Abdulhamit Gül.

“She should be immediately released”

In the parliamentary question, it is stated that Tenzile Acar has been held in Bakırköy Closed Women’s Prison since March 21, 2017, even if she is a patient with chronic hepatitis B infections and that she hasn’t been released despite her gradually worsening illness. The parliamentary question points out that Tenzile Acar has been unable to meet her own needs as she has had the symptoms of tuberculosis for about a year, “Tenzile Acar was hospitalized after having difficulty breathing and blood flow from her throat. This causes serious concerns about her life. Her illness is getting worse day by day in the prison and she is unable to meet her needs. She has held in a cell alone due to the Covid-19 pandemic because she has been often transferred to the hospital. Tenzile Acar has faced a violation of the right to life. She should be immediately temporarily released from prison to be treated.

“*What are the legal obstacles to not release Tenzile Acar, who has faced violation of the right to life due to her serious illnesses?

·         Has the Ministry of Justice conducted research about Tenzile Acar? Are you planning to release Tenzile Acar so that she can access treatment under healthier conditions?

·         Dozens of inmates lost their lives in the last two years; do you plan to make a regulation to release sick inmates to prevent deaths?

·         Under what conditions are sick inmates released? How many sick inmates lost their lives in the last two years? How many patients have been released?
