Call from CHP to Turkish Council of State about Istanbul Convention
Republican People's Party (CHP) Women's Branch Chair Aylin Nazlıaka called on the Turkish Council of State about the Istanbul Convention to take a stand for justice.
News Center - Republican People's Party (CHP) Women's Branch Chair Aylin Nazlıaka made a written statement. In the statement, she recalled that they filed a submission twice with the Council of State requesting the cancellation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s executive decree withdrawing Turkey from the Istanbul Convention and she called on the Council of State to take a stand for justice for the Istanbul Convention, which will remain in force until July 1.
“What are you waiting for to rule?”
“What are you waiting for to rule the cancellation of the decree?” asked Aylin Nazlıaka in her statement and said, “Stop sleeping and cancel this unlawful decision by taking a stand for justice! If you rule after the withdrawal from the Istanbul Convention enters into force on July 1, 2021, your rule will have no meaning. Put an end to this series of unlawful acts and rule for a stay of execution immediately! We call on you to make a decision in accordance with the Constitution and laws.”
