22 years, 3 months prison sentence against Leyla Güven upheld
Turkey’s Court of Appeal has upheld the 22 years and three months prison sentence against DTK Co-chair Leyla Güven, who was arrested after her parliamentary immunity was lifted.
News Center - Diyarbakır Regional Courts of Justice has upheld the 22 years and three months prison sentence against Leyla Güven, Co-Chair of the Democratic Society Congress (DTK) and dismissed Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) MP. Leyla Güven was sentenced to four years, three months in prison on the charge of “being the member of an organization” and eight years in total for “propagandizing for a terrorist organization” twice. Her lawyers objected to the prison sentence and applied to the Regional Courts of Justice.
