Women’s employment rate decreases to 30.7 percent
The Economic Policy Research Foundation of Turkey has released its Employment Monitoring Bulletin. The bulletin reveals that the rate of women among all insured employees decreased from 31.3 percent in early 2020 to 30.7 percent in January 2021.
News Center- The Economic Policy Research Foundation of Turkey has released the 104th issue of its Employment Monitoring Bulletin. The bulletin notes that employment in the sectors negatively affected by the COVID-19 pandemic still keeps dropping and that women's employment has narrowed since November 2020. According to the bulletin, the number of insured female employees has increased by 201 thousand compared to the previous year but the rate of insured female employees dropped from 31.3 percent in early 2020 to 30.7 percent in January 2021. The bulletin also reports that the women's employment rate has decreased due to the restrictive measures taken against the second wave of the pandemic and the women’s employment has narrowed by about 81 thousand in the last four months.
