Women going shopping for Feast of Sacrifice in the Said Sadiq town of the Kurdistan Region return home empty-handed due to high prices of products.

Şarezûr- As the Feast of Sacrifice is approaching, people have gone shopping to buy clothes for themselves and their children. However, the people going shopping have returned home empty-handed due to the economic crisis affecting all countries. In the Kurdistan Region, the people complain about the high prices of clothes and other products. The women living in the Said Sadiq town of the Kurdistan Region told us that they returned home empty-handed. Both shop owners and citizens complain about the increasing prices of products.

They suffer from the economic crisis

Rojîn Kerîm has a clothing shop in the town. “I sell children’s clothes in my shop. The economic crisis also affects me. Not only the prices of clothes but also other products have been increasing. The biggest reason for this increase is the rise in the dollar. We try to help the poor people. We buy cheap clothes so that the poor people can buy them,” she told NuJINHA.

Price hikes also affect them

Medya Salih went to the bazaar in the town to buy new clothes for her children. However, she rented clothes for her children to wear during the Feast of Sacrifice due to high prices of the clothes. She told us that price hikes also affect them.
