First wheelchair mechanic in Golestan Province: Samaneh Mohsenpour
Disabled Samaneh Mohsenpour has become the first wheelchair mechanic in Iran Golestan Province. She applied for a loan to open a repair shop and her application was rejected, but she never gave up and rented a storeroom with her own means to repair wheelchairs.
News Center - In Iran's Gulistan Province, Samaneh Mohsenpour became a physically disabled person due to polio when she was a child. She worked hard despite her disability and now she is a professional mechanic.
Samaneh Mohsenpour was born in the Nodijeh village of Golestan Province and she couldn’t have normal education opportunities like her peers due to her physical disability. “Actually, I didn’t like school. I felt like a stranger. I felt I was subjected to discrimination. I played table tennis because I couldn’t do other physical exercises. I liked playing table tennis and became a table tennis champion,” said Samaneh Mohsenpour while talking about her childhood.
She rented a storeroom with her own means after being rejected for a loan
She told us that she gets used to living with her disability and that she learned how to repair wheelchair to wheelchair people. “I applied to a load for entrepreneurs. If I had got the loan, I thought of starting a project for physically disabled people but now I just repair wheelchairs,” Samaneh Mohsenpour said. She has repaired the wheelchairs in the storeroom rented by her with her own means.
