Kobanî- Jineology Research Center in Euphrates region develops an educational leaflet about suicides, femicides, and suspicious deaths of women. The 11-page leaflet explains what suicide is, the reasons for murders, and the increasing rate of suicide cases in the Euphrates region. The leaflet also gives information on how to prevent suicides.

Jineology Research Center held a seminar participated by male members of the Autonomous Administration in the Euphrates region to give information about the leaflet. During the seminar, the center member Sediqa Xilo read the leaflet and gave information about how they can prevent suicides.

“We will prevent suicides together”

Rima Ehmed, another member of the Jineology Research Center, spoke to our news agency about the activities of the center and the leaflet. “We got together with many organizations and discussed the reasons behind a suicide or attempted suicide. We launched a project to prevent suicides. We carried out research to find out the reasons and how we can prevent suicides. We talked to many organizations, civilians, and parents. In the end, we developed this leaflet. We have held seminars to raise awareness of public opinion. We believe that we will prevent suicides together.”

“Suicide is a social issue,” said Mihemed Şahin, co-chair of the Autonomous Administration’s Executive Council in the Euphrates region.
