“Digital Heritage Hackathon” for Palestinian women

Gaza- Palestinian Ministry of Women’s Affairs launched the Digital Heritage Hackathon 2022 under the slogan “Innovation for Women” in the Gaza Strip on February 27 as part of the Palestinian women entrepreneurs’ projects. Shaima Jaarour, a project coordinator of the Ministry of Women's Affairs, said that the Digital Heritage Hackathon was launched as part of the Malaysian cultural exchange project funded by the Gaza Lovers Foundation Malaysia. “Young programmers will design a website to display and sell Palestinian heritage women's products all around the world. It will be like an online bazaar. This project will support women to display their products and promote Palestinian heritage all over the world,” she said.

Underlining that this project is one of the projects initiated by the ministry and Women's Research and Studies Center, working to support women in politics, economy, social and every part of life, to support Palestinian women entrepreneurs, Shaima Jaarour said, “The women will be financially supported to start their small businesses, thus they will increase their income. Palestinian women will display and sell their artistic products on the website.”
