What is the main reason for the establishment of Dar Aman women’s shelter?
Violence against women is a violation of the dignity of women and deprived them of enjoying their rights and freedoms. In addition, the wars and conflicts affecting women's health and psychology, so we had to found a safe shelter to take care of female victims and survivors of violence.
What kinds of services are provided by Dar Aman women’s shelter?
The services provided by the women’s shelter are to ensure protection and security for women.  In addition, our aim is to restore their self-confidence and to reintegrate them into life. The women’s shelter also provides a space for women and services for women’s health, psychology and social needs, and legal advice. Our aim is to support women to participate in working life to stand on their own feet.
Can you tell us how the Dar Aman women’s shelter work?
The shelter has its own forms, a referral, reception, and exit forms, it has an available semi-suitable place for women and their problem can be solved easily because the women’s shelter provides legal support.
Can you tell us about the thoughts of people for the women’s shelter?
The security and legal procedures took a long time to found the shelter because of the conservative society of the Marib governorate. We tried to raise awareness about the importance of this shelter, particularly during conflicts and wars.
We held workshops about the shelter along with the local authority in Marib to explain the working mechanism between us and the security authorities. And we also held workshops for NGOs to explain how the security services deal with violence against women.  I would like to thank the local authority in Marib and the security authorities because they trusted and supported us in founding the shelter".
Do you work on new projects?
We would like to expand the shelter and the activities for women. We also want to found a children’s shelter. I call on organizations to support our project and similar projects specialized in protecting women and to stand by us to increase the services for female survivors of violence.
