Dilfiroz Eyub, who lives in the Ghazali neighborhood of Hewler (Erbil), tries to promote her colorful handicraft items by displaying them at the festivals and art markets. After completing her high school education, she couldn’t attend university due to special reasons. Now, she is displaying her products at the art market being held in her neighborhood.
“Women should show their skills”
Dilfiroz Eyub makes handicrafts with a group of women in the neighborhood. They also embellish Kurdish clothes with beads, paint, glitter, and fabric. Difiroz Eyub has a great interest in handicrafts. “I have worked with a group of women called, “Sara”. We make handicraft items at home and bring them to the market in order to both display and sell them. The women in the group have supported me a lot until now. They want me to expand my business. The women, who are skilled at making handicrafts, can make handicraft items and home and then sell them. I ask parents for supporting their daughters’ participation in the labor force.”
