Ramallah – 16-year-old Meys Bedran lives in the Al-Bireh governorate of Palestine and she has two published books even if she is very young. She and her family quickly realized that she has talent in writing. “I wrote a letter when I was a sixth-grade student. My Arabic teacher loved my letter and understood I have a talent for writing. My teacher supported me to write. In the beginning, I had a really hard time. I joined the competitions organized by the Ministry of National Education, I won some of them and lost some of them but I never felt I couldn’t write. But losing them made me feel weak, that’s why I want to be a successful writer,” she told us.

“I believe in myself”

Meys Bedran told us that she is very good at writing but has difficulty expressing herself while speaking,” Since I cannot express myself verbally, people think I did not write these writings. I can write but I am bad at expressing myself verbally. Sometimes, people don’t believe that I am the writer of my books when they meet me. I don’t think this is a failure for me. I cannot speak very well because this is me. I believe in myself even if people don’t.”

“This book was the beginning of my journey”

Meys Bedran talked about her first book, “On Making a Dream Come True” and she said, “This success was not my only option. I needed a job to grow up. I didn’t know any editorial rules and I met a group of writers, be the same age as me, they helped me. My first book was published under the name of “On Making a Dream Come True”. I chose this name because this book was the beginning of my journey. The book was published in 2019 by Jordan Yava Publishing House. After this experience, I read books of many authors such as Walid EL-Hodli and Ferc Ebid El-Hesib to improve my writing style.”

“Achieve your dreams, don’t limit yourselves”

After writing her first book, Meys Bedran began to work with other writers and wrote her second book named, “Dream”. She calls on her peers, “Don’t limit yourselves to studying at university to achieve your goals, look for your talents. There is no limit to creativity. People should make effort to achieve their goals and dreams.”
