 Tirbespiyê (Al-Qahtaniyah)- Since the revolution in Rojava, women have been participating in every field of art to preserve their culture and art.

Sûzan Eba, an art teacher in Tirbespiyê (Al-Qahtaniyah), is one of these women. She aims to preserve the cultural heritage of the Kurdish people through her paintings depicting the culture and resistance of the Kurdish people.

‘I studied art after the revolution’

Sûzan Ebas has been interested in painting since her childhood. “After the revolution, I attended Kurdish language courses. Then, I studied art at university. Since graduating from the university, I have been working as an art teacher.”

‘My aim is to preserve Kurdish culture’

Speaking about the challenges faced by her, Sûzan Ebas said, “I was always told that being a painter wouldn't be interesting. But I never gave up and held an exhibition. Many people visited the exhibition and loved my painting. My aim is to preserve Kurdish culture.”

‘I want to help children with autism’

Sûzan Ebas also wants to start a project to “help children with autism through art.” She thinks that every Kurdish woman should preserve Kurdish culture. “We should believe in ourselves and reveal our talents to preserve Kurdish culture.”
