She wants to teach their art to young people
Painter Şadan Bekir wants young women to reveal their skills. She paints only nature pictures now but she wants to improve herself in other fields as well.

Darbandikhan- 19-year-old painter Şadan Bekir is one of the young women, who want to improve themselves in painting. She lives in the Darbandikhan town of Sulaimaniyah, Kurdistan Region. Şadan Bekir, who has liked painting since her childhood, is currently a university student and studying mathematics. She has attended a painting course organized by a youth center within the scope of a project called, “Protecting the Children of Kurdistan” for about a year. She wants to teach her art to her family members, friends and young people.
She joins a painting exhibition for the first time
Şadan Bekir paints only nature pictures now but she wants to improve herself in other fields as well. One of her paintings is among 24 paintings in the painting exhibition held in Darbandikhan. “I join a painting exhibition for the first time. I feel happy when those who saw my painting thank me. My family supports me. For this reason, I want to paint good pictures for them and for myself,” Şadan Bekir told us.
“Reveal your skills”
Şadan Bekir talked about her painting exhibited at the exhibition; “It is my first portrait and painting. It is an oil painting. I wanted to paint it very well. I hope I do better in my other paintings. Young women should reveal their skills. They should be supported to reveal their hidden skills.”
