Sezen Aksu supports villagers’ protest in İkizdere
Singer Sezen Aksu released a written statement on her website to express her support to villagers protesting a stone quarry project of the pro-government Cengiz Construction Company in the İkizdere district of Rize province.

“This country belongs to us, our mothers, our fathers and our child…The temporary authority that we have given to the government is not to take our living spaces and our lives away… If you insist treating your own people this way, it means you have exceeded your authority and lost the grounds for legitimacy,” Sezen Aksu said in her statement.
