News Center- Iranian director, producer and actress Niki Karimi will be the jury president of the Golden Scale Feature Film Competition for the 11th International Crime and Punishment Film Festival, held in Istanbul since 2011.
The festival has been annually organized by the Istanbul University Faculty of Law, Criminal Law and Criminology Research and Application Center since 2011. The theme of the 11th International Crime and Punishment Film Festival is “Justice”.
Sahraa Karimi will receive an honorary award
The 11th International Crime and Punishment Film Festival will present an honorary award to the Afghan director Sahra Karimi at the opening ceremony, which will be held on the evening of November 25th, dedicated to all resisting Afghan women and filmmakers. Sahraa Karimi will also attend a talk on “Making Films in Afghanistan” with director Gözde Kural as part of the festival’s industry days, VisionIST.
Who is Niki Karimi?
Niki Karimi is an Iranian actress, director, and screenwriter. She is one of the most well-known and successful Iranian artists. She has won many awards nationally and internationally. She has also recently been on the jury for more than 20 renowned film festivals. She became famous for her performance in Behrooz Afkhami's hit film “The Bride” and Darioush Mehrjouii’s film “Sara”.
