Algeria- The cultural program titled “No means No!” started on March 15 by Algerian Ministry of Culture and Art, Algerian Center of Cinematography (Centre Algerien de la Cinematographie) continues. The aim of the program is to discuss violence against women through cinema, media and culture and to find solutions.

3-day activities

Linda Belkhiriya, the organizer of the cultural program, spoke to NuJINHA about the program. “This cultural program has been launched since 2018, and its first film screening was in Tunisia in partnership with the Carthage Film Festival, and then in Jordan with the Karama Human Rights Film Festival, and in Palestine with the Festival Cinema Days. This year, we decided to organize a film screening in Algeria about women’s issues and rights as part of the program. Our activities will last three days. Four short films and a long documentary, and some short films from different Arab countries will be screened during the three days.”
