Afghan filmmaker becomes jury member of 2022 Fribourg Film Festival
Afghan filmmaker Sahra Mani is a member of the jury at the 2022 Fribourg International Film Festival.
News Center- The Fribourg International Film Festival (FIFF) is an annual film festival in Fribourg, Switzerland. The 36th Fribourg International Film Festival has been held between March 18 March and 27 March this year.
Sahra Mani, an Afghan filmmaker, and producer, is a member of the jury at the festival. Her film A Thousand Girls Like Me will be also screened at the festival.
Who is Sahra Mani?
Sahra Mosawi-Mani is an award-winning documentary filmmaker, university lecturer, and founder of Afghanistan Documentary House. She began working in media in 2001. She received a Master’s degree in documentary filmmaking from the University of the Arts London and has since focused on creating documentaries about her own country Afghanistan. Some of her films are Kaloo School (2013), Beyond the Burka (2014), and A Thousand Girls Like Me (2018).
