News Center-the suffering of Gaza’s residents continues amid limited humanitarian aid and deteriorating living conditions, as fears grow over the spread of the worsening food and shelter crisis.
Humanitarian relief organizations reported on Tuesday, November 4, that the amount of aid reaching Gaza remains extremely limited as hunger deepens and winter cold approaches. Conditions in old, worn-out tents are deteriorating nearly four weeks after the ceasefire that followed two years of devastating war.
The World Food Programme stated that only half of the required food supplies are entering the Strip, while several Palestinian organizations estimated that the total aid amounts to just a quarter to one-third of expected levels.
According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), the ceasefire and increased aid flow since mid-October have brought some improvements, though major challenges persist on the ground.
OCHA noted that acute malnutrition among children in Gaza remains high at 10% of those screened, down from 14% in September, with over a thousand children suffering from severe malnutrition — reflecting the ongoing health and humanitarian crisis.
As winter approaches, residents urgently need shelter, especially as tents deteriorate and surviving buildings are often unsafe or exposed.
The head of the Palestinian NGO Network warned of widespread disease due to hundreds of tons of accumulated waste near populated areas, with rain and cold weather worsening the spread of epidemics and deepening the suffering of residents amid environmental and health decline.
He added that only 25–30% of the expected aid has entered Gaza so far, while an estimated 1.5 million people remain in urgent need of shelte.
