News Center- The municipality in the Sur district of Amed (Diyarbakır) has held weekly meetings with women to hear their problems and demands. Fatma Gulan Önkol, Co-mayor of the Sur Municipality, held a meeting with women in the courtyard of a house in the neighborhood of Abdaldede.

The women attending the meeting demanded an alternative solution to overcome the ongoing economic crisis, living in a safe neighborhood and the establishment of social spaces and a district market.

‘We want to provide services according to your demands’

After listening to the problems and demands of the women, Fatma Gulan Önkol said, “We have held meetings with women in Sur to learn what they demand from the municipality because women know what their neighborhood needs the most. We want to provide services according to your demands.”
