News Center- We Will Stop Femicides Platform Women’s Assemblies held a virtual meeting titled, “Implement the constitution, law, convention”. 750 women from different cities of Turkey and six countries joined the meeting.

The women talked about Turkey’s withdrawal from the Istanbul Convention, what happens after the withdrawal decision, and criticisms sparked due to the decision.  After the meeting, the women have announced their decisions and stated that they will keep struggling.

The decisions taken by the women are as follows;

*We will raise our organizing struggle in all cities of the country.

*We will shout, “Implement the constitution, law, convention” everywhere. We will discuss other aspects of this struggle with our struggling organizations. We will launch mass and simultaneous protests everywhere against all unlawfulness and injustice.

*We will develop methods with organizations struggling against lawlessness.

*We will shape social opposition with all our experiences we gained in the women's movement. Like the struggle to stop femicides, we will carry out this struggle with a goal.

*We told what the 6284 Law (to Protect Family and Prevent Violence against Women) is to the whole society and we will tell how they (the government) are obliged to implement the law and the Constitution everywhere. We will always carry the constitution booklet and we will show it to them whenever they don’t want to see it.

*We will take legal actions against unlawful mandates. We will apply to the Council of State for annulment of the mandates. Social segments whose fundamental rights are violated will be able to apply to us to carry out the struggle together.

* The Istanbul Convention will expire on July 1. We will make plans to bring the Istanbul Convention forward. We will rise up across the country.
