Raqqa- Women attending a workshop in Raqqa read the fifth volume of the “Manifesto of Democratic Civilization” book written by Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan. The workshop was attended by the members of the Zenubya Women’s Community and other organizations from Raqqa, Tabqa and Deir ez-Zor.

“We held a workshop for our members and members of various organizations,” said Nour Al-Huda, member of the Education Office of the Zenubya Women’s Community. “Women read the fifth volume of the ‘Manifesto Democratic Civilization’ written by leader Abdullah Öcalan during a week-workshop. In the fifth volume, Abdullah Öcalan tells his childhood, how he was raised, his education life and his efforts in politics and economy. He also mentions other issues such as equal life and democratic nation.”

‘He proposes a radical political solution’

Nour Al-Huda also talked about why they read the fifth volume of the book. “Leader Öcalan proposes a radical political solution to arguments. In the fifth volume, he draws attention to the reasons for conflict and their negative effects on the region. He also proposes radical solutions to end the ongoing conflict and crises in the Middle East and to ensure peace and stability, and to stop the bloodshed.”

‘Women are targeted’

Women pay the highest price in all crises and conflicts, Nour Al-Huda emphasized. “In crises and conflicts, women and girls face rights violations such as forced displacement, murder, massacres and rape. They are first targeted. Therefore, women should know the arguments of leader Öcalan, who offers solutions to social problems in order to ensure peace and freedom. Reading the fifth volume has changed my perspective and raised awareness among women about the problems and challenges in the region. Getting to know the life philosophy of leader Öcalan, understanding his thoughts and analyzing his words is important to find a peaceful and political solution in the region.”

‘Leader Öcalan analyzes the causes of global conflicts’

“This workshop was an important workshop to understand the thoughts of leader Öcalan and the philosophy of the revolution,” said Fawza Al-Hamoud, member of Mala Jin (Women’s House), who attended the workshop. “As we read the books of leader Öcalan, we understood his resistance, strength and desire for justice and equality for the people all around the world. He never gives up despite all the challenges faced by him. Leader Öcalan managed to reveal the true face of the policies pursued by authoritarian states and their goals by analyzing the causes of global conflicts. Therefore, I call on all women to attend such workshops. Each woman must make great efforts to have a free life with dignity and learn the thoughts of leader Öcalan.”

‘I want to learn more about the thoughts of leader Öcalan’

Yesrib Hindi, member of Zenubya Women’s Community, wants to learn more about the thoughts of Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan because “I want to understand the reasons for the conflicts and wars in the Middle East, especially the war in Gaza, and genocides committed against people, including Armenians and Yazidis.”
