Women of Marivan protest violence against women

A group of women and activists held a protest in Iran’s Marivan town to protest the increase in violence against women.

The women shouted the “We want security” slogan and called on the Iranian government to ensure their security.

The women gathered to protest the increase in violence against women in the town after a woman jumped from the second floor of a building after being sexually assaulted by one of her neighbors. The woman was taken to a hospital in Sanandaj and her condition is still unknown. Protesters emphasized that women have no security and called on the authorities to do their duty. They said that the government's policies encourage men to use violence against women.
