‘We did see no fire brigade or ambulance’

“Although we cried for help, no one came to help us because we are Kurds”, said the women of the village. “They want us to die and disappear. But we will always be here and never disappear. First, the men of the village went to extinguish the fire, then we did our best to extinguish it. We did see no fire brigade or ambulance throughout the night. We did see no fire helicopters and the help of the state. They just watched the fire without helping us. We know why they did this; they see us as their enemies. We carried dead bodies without any help.”
