Deir ez-Zor- The Turkish attacks on North and East Syria continue, targeting infrastructure, hospitals and civilians. Women of Deir ez-Zor condemn the ongoing Turkish attacks, calling on the international community to take an immediate action against the attacks.
Reem Al-Rawam, Co-mayor of Hajin, a small city in Deir ez-Zor, condemned the Turkish attacks on the region and said, “The Turkish state targets civilian infrastructure on the excuse that it ensures national security. The main target of the Turkish state is the system based on democracy.”
‘Action must be taken to end the aggression’
Criticizing the silence of the countries claiming that they are guarantors protecting the people of North and East Syria, Reem Al-Rawam demanded the Turkish state be held responsible for killing civilians. Reem Al-Rawam also addressed humanitarian aid and human rights organizations, calling on them to intervene and raise their voice to protect the people and the gains of the revolution. “The international community must fulfill its responsibilities and take an immediate action to end this aggression targeting thousands of people. Violations must be ended and people must be protected.”
‘We are ready against all kinds of attacks’
Hayat Al-Ahmed, member of the Zenubya Women’s Community, defines the Turkish attacks as “brutal”. “As children of this region, we are ready against all kinds of attacks. We expect these attacks at any time because the Turkish state is an enemy that threatens the security and stability of North and East Syria. It sees the system based on democracy in North and East Syria as a threat.”
‘The Turkish state has already crossed the red line’
The Turkish state has committed crimes against humanity, Hayat Al-Ahmad stressed. “As the women of Deir ez-Zor, we will struggle and stand with the Syrian Democratic Forces against any attack on our regions. We will do our best to repel the attacks. The Turkish state has already crossed the red line by targeting civilians,” said Hayat Al-Ahmed, calling on the international powers to take an immediate action against the Turkish attacks targeting civilians.
