Women march in Hasakah to protest Turkish attacks
Hundreds of women marched in Hasakah to protest the ongoing attacks of the Turkish state.
Hasakah (Hasekê)-The Young Women’s Union and Kongra Star held a march in the city of Hasakah with the participation of hundreds of women to protest the attacks carried out by the Turkish state with the support of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP or PDK).
During the march, the women shouted slogans condemning the military operation and attacks in Iraq and Kurdistan Region, particularly Shengal. The women from different nations participated in the march by wearing their traditional clothes.
“We stand by those who resist”
Midiya Ebid El Rehman, a member of the Young Women’s Union, made a speech on behalf of the union. In her speech, she drew attention to the ongoing war in the region and said, “We have been going through a difficult period in which our existence is at risk and those who protect our existence are the fighters of Kurdistan. We support and stand by the resistance of the guerrillas.”
In her speech, Wesif Şebût, a member of the Kongra Star, recalled that the policies being carried out by the KDP have damaged the spirituality of the peoples of Kurdistan and said, “We do not accept the ongoing war on the territory of Southern Kurdistan. The occupation must end immediately. As Kongra Star, we stand by those who resist. We will definitely frustrate the dirty plans on us by strengthening our unity more.
The march ended after the women shouted slogans.
