Women leave purple wreath at Afghan Consulate in Istanbul

Women left a purple wreath at the Consulate General of Afghanistan located in the Beşiktaş district of Istanbul to protest inhuman practices of the Taliban against Afghan women.

Istanbul- Yesterday, women shouting, “Afghan women are not alone,” held a protest in front of the Consulate General of Afghanistan located in the Beşiktaş district of Istanbul.  The women holding a banner reading, “The Taliban and its supporters will be wiped off the face of the earth, women will live with secularism,” issued a press statement. Fidan Ataselim, the secretary-general of the We Will Stop Femicide Platform, read the statement on behalf of women. “We see, hear and know what is happened after the Taliban's takeover of Afghanistan from Afghan women’s posts and articles published by newspapers. We want to tell all women living in Afghanistan, who feel alone and think that they are invisible, that they are never alone.”

After the statement, a purple wreath was laid in front of the consulate.
