Women detained after joining Feminist Night March in Istanbul

Many women have been taken into custody after joining 19th Feminist Night March held in Istanbul on International Women’s Day.
News Center- On March 8, International Women’s Day, 19th Feminist Night March was held in Istanbul. Women joined the march drew attention to the increasing femicides in Turkey.
Last night, police raided the houses of many women joined the march and detained many women. The Twitter account of the Feminist Night March announced the detention of women, “There is not a state when I (women) am raped but there is a state when I (women) want to march at Istiklal Avenue. Some of our friends who participated in the Feminist Night March have been detained from their houses, and we will not leave each other alone.”
The women have been reportedly detained for "insulting the President." The Progressive Lawyers Association (ÇHD) has announced that at least 10 women have been taken into custody.
