News Center- The protests that sparked in the cities of Iran and Rojhelat (Eastern Kurdistan) after the murder of Mahsa Amini (22) by the morality police in Tehran continue. “We will kill those who murdered our sister,” shouted the women protesting in the cities of Iran and Rojhelat.

According to the received information, five people have been killed and more than 200 people have been detained during the protests in Iran and Rojhelat. The number of detained people is increasing.

Police cars were set on fire

Last night, the protests spread to many cities of Iran such as Tabriz, Arak and Isfahan. In the city of Rasht, police cars were set on fire while the protesters built barricades in Tehran by chanting slogans such as “Death to the dictator”, “We are the children of war, fight so that we can fight back” and “Jin, jiyan, azadi (Women, life, freedom)”.

Protests were also held in Mashhad, known as the city of mullahs. The protesters climbed on police cars and chanted, “We do not want an Islamic republic”.

Women burned their headscarves

Images of women dancing around the fires and throwing their headscarves into the fire in the city of Sari go viral on social media platforms. Tabriz was one of the cities, where barricades were built. In the city of Shiraz, police used tear gas against the protesters. In Kermanshah, women climbed on the garbage containers and threw off their headscarves and cut their hair.

According to local sources, many have been injured in the police attacks.
