News Center_ Security authorities in Khbat town, Hewlêr, are continuing their investigation into the drowning incident of a woman whose body was found yesterday, Thursday, February 26, in the Zê River.

The drowning incident has raised many questions due to its unclear circumstances. Preliminary information indicates that the victim, estimated to be between 50 and 60 years old, fell from the town’s old bridge moments after a verbal altercation with a passenger in the taxi she was riding.

According to eyewitness accounts, the woman stopped at the bridge after a brief argument with the passenger, then exited the vehicle and headed toward the edge of the bridge, immediately after which she fell into the river. The old bridge in Khbat is among locations that have witnessed similar incidents in past years, some of which were linked to social disputes or complex psychological conditions, prompting authorities to handle any incident occurring in its vicinity with caution.

Security forces have announced the opening of an extensive investigation to determine whether the death resulted from an accidental fall, intentional pushing, or if there is criminal suspicion. The body has been transferred to the forensic medicine department in Hewlêr for necessary examinations and to precisely determine the cause of death. Until now, the official identity of the woman has not been announced, nor have additional details been revealed about the person who was with her in the taxi.
