Yesterday, Turkey conducted a drone strike on civilians in Kobanî and its rural areas killing one civilian and injuring 11 civilians, mostly women.  “We are killed in our houses. Their real aim is to force people to displace,” said the people we interviewed after the attack. 

 Kobanî –Yesterday, Turkey conducted a drone strike on civilians in Kobanî and its rural areas. At the same time, Turkey launched an operation in the Qeremux and Elî Şar villages of Kobanî and Girê Spî, Bîr Ereb, Xan, Serzorî, Kultep, Cirin, Solan and Erêda. A civilian named Ibrahim Şirif was killed and 11 civilians were injured in the drone attack. 

Most injured civilians are women

The names of injured civilians, mostly women, are as follows:  Navîn Şikri Beşar (25), Mazlum Bekir Teybu (36), Cihan Mele Osman Salih (25), Mihemed Behai Din Eli (35), Besna Salih Henifi (24), Şerin Seid Henifi (27), Girila Celal Ebdullah (36), Ebdo Mistefa Henifi (4), one-and-a half-year-old Yawer Ibrahim Henifi, Hemud Metir El-Gafili (5) and Edil Kêtikani (30). 

“They attacked us before”

Şerin Henifi, who was injured in her foot in the attack, lives in the Qeremuxe village of Kobanî. Stating that Turkey wants to create fear among people, she said, “My one-and-a-half-year-old son Yawere was also injured in his foot. We were sitting at home. We saw howitzers were fired. Each of us ran to different places. I heard the cries of children and then lost my consciousness. I and my son were injured. The Turkish state always claims that it doesn’t target civilians. We are all civilians. They attacked us when we were at home. The Turkish stated attacked our village before. This is not its first attack on our village.”

“Turkey aims to create fear among people”

Necah Henifi is one of the witnesses of the Turkish attack. “I was at home. I heard the sound of howitzers. I saw one of them hit my father’s house. One woman was in the blood. Another woman was injured in the hand. Another one was injured in the leg and belly. This is a massacre. The Turkish state always targets our children. The Turkish state aims to create fear among people to forcibly displace the people.”

Some of them are seriously injured

Nur Şikti Beşar has been injured in the foot. “I heard a sound and then saw my foot was injured. My children were also injured in the foot. Many people were injured. Some of them are seriously injured. We are killed in our houses,” she told us.
