“We are being persecuted,” says Emine Şenyaşar demanding justice
Emine Şenyaşar hasn’t made her voice heard for 114 days. “We are being persecuted,” said Emine Şenyaşar, who made a telephone conversation with her son Fadıl Şenyaşar being held in Elazığ Prison for three years.
Riha- Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were killed in the attack carried out by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız, has held a sit-in protest in front of Urfa Courthouse with her son Ferit Şenyaşar, who survived the attack, to demand justice for their relatives for 114 days.
The Şenyaşar family made a weekly telephone conversation with Fadıl Şenyaşar, who has been held in Elazığ Prison for three years. After talking with her son, Emine Şenyaşar said, “My son has been held in a single cell for three years. His father and brothers were killed. How could he feel in prison? We are not able to do anything. We went to Ankara, Istanbul and other cities but nothing has changed. They destroyed my family, but this is not enough for them; they have held my son in prison. They have even barred us from entering the courthouse. We are being persecuted.”
“He has held in a single cell for three years”
Ferit Şenyaşar stated that they have faced unfairness and injustice, “My brother has been unlawfully held in a single cell of the prison for three years. He is also waiting for the day when justice will be secured. He never loses his hope and resists. We try to make his voice heard here. We struggle to end this persecution.”
