Violence against women in Turkey increasing

A nurse has been found killed in her home in Antep. A woman was subjected to violence in the street of Istanbul. A disabled child was sexually abused by her father and uncles in Sakarya. A perpetrator of sexual abuse was released in Mersin.

In Antep city, Dila Yıldırım, a nurse working for Dr. Ersin Arslan Training and Research Hospital, have been found shot in the head. An ambulance was sent to the scene after her family reported the incident. Seriously wounded Dila was taken to the hospital but she passed away at the hospital. An investigation has been opened.

A video sharing on social media shows how a woman was subjected to violence by a man in the Söğütlüçeşme Menderes Street of Istanbul’s suburb Küçükçekmece. In the video, the woman tried to protect her from the man.
Killer sent to prison
Hüseyin Temurtaş, who shot dead his wife Hüsna Temurtaş (30) in the Bornova district of Izmir province, has been sent to prison by the Criminal Court of Peace. Hüseyin Temurtaş fled the scene by car after killing his wife but then he was caught by police.
Disabled child sexually abused
A mentally disabled child (16) was reportedly sexually abused by her father and two uncles and one of her neighbors in the Ferizli district of Sakarya. After the incident was heard in the district, four men were taken into custody. After the procedures at the police station, four men have been sent to prison.
Abuser released
A man named Kerim K. sexually abused an eight-year-old child. After being detained, he has been released under judicial control. According to the received reports, the child is afraid of going out due to the abuse the child was subjected to.
