UNRWA: Families in Gaza face unimaginable devastation

“Families in Gaza face unimaginable devastation,” UNRWA said on Monday, stressing that 92% of housing units in Gaza are damaged or destroyed, leaving thousands with “nowhere safe to go”.

News Center- The Israeli army continues to attack the Gaza Strip, targeting civilian buildings and infrastructure, including power and water facilities.

“Families in Gaza face unimaginable devastation,” the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) said in a post on its social media accounts on Monday.

According to the Protection Cluster, 92% of homes in Gaza have been damaged or destroyed by Israel’s attacks.

“Destruction defines life in Gaza,” UNRWA said in a video, calling for the lift of the siege imposed by Israel on the Gaza Strip. “People have been displaced countless times, forced to leave again and again. 92% of homes have been damaged or destroyed, leaving thousands with nowhere safe to go. Many are forced to shelter in unsafe, damaged buildings.”

According to the post, UNRWA facilities have been also hit with over 760 killed and 2,400 injured while seeking refuge. “UNRWA is on the ground, committed to helping but the challenges are immense.”
