Two women climbers found dead after going missing on Mount Sabalan
Three women climbers went missing due to adverse weather conditions while ascending Mount Sabalan, inactive stratovolcano in Ardabil Province of northwestern Iran. Two of them were found dead.
News Center- On January 5, three women climbers from Tabriz went missing due to adverse weather conditions while ascending Mount Sabalan, inactive stratovolcano in Ardabil Province of northwestern Iran.
After hours of search and rescue efforts, two women climbers named Masoumeh Rafiei and Nadreh Damaschi were found dead. According to the local reports, the women died from hypothermia.
The third climber was found injured and transferred to a hospital. According to local reports, she is in a critical condition.
Sabalan is the third-highest mountain in Iran after Damavand and Alamkuh, with 4,811 meters of altitude.
