“Turkey’s attacks on the Kurdistan Region resulted in the death of 110 civilians”

The report released by the Washington Kurdish Institute reveals that Turkey's attacks on the Kurdistan Region of Iraq have resulted in the death of 110 civilians and the injury of 186 since 2015.

News Center- The Washington Kurdish Institute has released a report entitled, “Civilian Casualties in Turkish attacks on the Kurdistan Region of Iraq August 2015 – August 2022”.

In the report, the institute has compiled the news from many press outlets such as Iraqi News Agency, Rudaw, France 2, ANHA News, ANF News and Kurdistan 24 and reports released by international organizations such as Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and Christian Peace teams.

“Since 2015, under the pretext of fighting the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), Turkey's attacks on the Kurdistan Region of Iraq resulted in the death of 110 civilians and the injury of 186,” the report said.

Between August 2015 and August 2022, Turkish attacks killed 110 civilians and injured 186 civilians in many cities of the Kurdistan Region such as Duhok, Nineveh, Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, Shengal (Sinjar), according to the report.

“Due to difficulties in reporting on these attacks, the actual numbers of civilians killed and wounded may be higher,” the report said.
