Women were killed for trying to build their own lives. While the excuses of men for killing 8 women were not determined, 13 women were killed by men on the excuse that they wanted to make their own decision about their lives; asking for a divorce, refusing marriage, or dating proposal. 10 women were killed by their husbands, five by their partners, one by her ex-partner, four by their ex-husbands, two by their relatives, two by their fathers, one by her son, two by men they knew, and one by a man she didn’t know. Most women were killed at their homes.

We Will Stop Femicide Platform also stresses in the report that they will never give up on the Istanbul Convention.
